Guest Access

Guests have access to great room, kitchen and dining, upstairs laundry, bedrooms and bathrooms as listed (with exception of rooms locked for owners storage). There are two steps to get into the house, common areas are on ground floor and there is a bedroom and full bathroom on the ground floor for guests that may have mobility restrictions. Our vacation home is comfortably furnished with full kitchen. Back deck, grill and patio set and picnic table for outside dining.

 

Guests are welcome to use of our canoe and kayak. Our home is located on a 125 acre lake that connects to another 250 acre lake. Lakes are used for swimming, fishing and boating — swimming and water sports are at your own risk. Neighborhood amenities include a beach area with volleyball neats, fitness trail, and two parks. (Note: Community pool is not available to guests and guests may not bring their own motorboats. Feel free to bring your kayak or paddle board.)

Please note: Renters do not have access to the garage, but there is ample driveway parking. No parking is allowed on the street or the grass.

 

Guests do not have use of the garage, indoor wood stove or gas fireplace.

Extra Amenities

We want you to be comfortable and have everything you need in this crazy time of pandemics and social distancing, so you don't have to leave the house if you don't want to! The full kitchen has a gas stove and double ovens. You'll find the kitchen well stocked with dishes and small appliances like toaster, blender, crock pot/pressure cooker to make cooking a breeze at your home away from home.

The laundry room is located upstairs and has a washer, dryer, small sink for hand wash and an iron and ironing board. An ample supply of towels and linens are provided for your use. It will not be replenished during your stay, so feel free to use the laundry room as needed.

Smart TVs with Netflix, Amazon, etc, as well as DVD player, are located downstairs in main living room and upstairs in the Dogwood Room. Portable outdoor bluetooth speaker is also available for your use.

We do have a fire pit outside for your use, but please use the spark screen and make sure it is extinguished each evening. You are welcome to use a bundle of wood during your stay, but please be respectful and don't wipe out our supply. A gas grill is provided, and we try to make sure the tank has gas for your arrival. Should it go out while you are there, kindly replace it with a quick trip to the Circle K. Floats, kayak, canoe and life jackets are available for use on request - please wear a life jacket and note that use of outdoor and lake items are at your own risk. By use of the lake or lake accessories, guest acknowledges that guest assumes all risk with lake activities.

We supply a "starter set" of toiletries (sample size soap, shampoo, etc.), toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags, and this is not replenished during your stay. For lengthier stays, you will need to purchase your own supplies.

House Rules & Other Things to Note

* A signed rental contract and verified ID is required to complete the reservation. Our private community has a community code which all guests must agree to follow.

* Drivers license and vehicle description are required for the gate guards.

* Pets are welcome upon approval (max 2) and with a nonrefundable pet fee. Pets must be on leash. Please read the Pet Rules that will be sent to you at booking.

* No Smoking!

* Use of lake is at your own risk. Please swim safely and keep a watchful eye on children.

* Military discount may be available for unaccompanied active duty.

* Cleaning Fee is required for all rentals. 

* Must be 23 to book. Exceptions may be made at owner's discretion for active duty military.

* Prebooking Screening: This is our home and we are very careful about who we allow to visit. Please answer the questions below in your reservation request. We also require an email address to send our rental contract and a government ID. 1. What brings you to our area? 2. Number of adults/children & description of pets.

* Our community has a community code including noise regs, speed limit and teen curfew that guests must agree to follow. See House Rules & Manual.

* Security cameras are on site, located outside the home and in owner's restricted areas. There are no security cameras in interior guest areas.

**Covid-19: We have a heightened cleaning protocol using a professional home cleaning service, and block at least 24 hours between guests, however guests travel at their own risk. Check NC status before you travel.**
